Kids Science Labs is preparing to host a day camp at our South Loop location for grades pre-K to 6th grade if Chicago Public School teachers do go on strike. To reserve a spot in the strike occurs, just enroll your child and pay the $1.00 non-refundable deposit for the spot. If CPS strikes, we will charge the cost for half day ($40), full day ($65), or extended day ($90) on Tuesday, October 11th. If the strike continues for additional days, we will maintain your spot each day and charge the same cost per day. We try to separate the classes into different rooms based on grade level. For larger day camps with 25+ kids, this may mean that we have three rooms, with kids Pre-school to K in one room, kids 1st-3rd in one room, and kids 4th-7th grade in a third room. Each day-off camp is different and the age distribution dictates how we may split the kids. If you have a child older than 10, just give us a ring and we can let you know if there are other kids that are older than 5th grade enrolled in the camp. We do try our best to keep kids that know each other together, but cannot make any promises.What to bring?(1) Peanut and tree-nut free lunch. (2) Water bottle (optional). (3) Socks. (4) Light jacket (as needed)(5) Book (if your child likes to read, they may be afforded some time in the afternoon to read)What not to bring? Video games, iPads, peanuts or tree nuts of any kind, legos, candy, chocolatesWhat to expect?1. We almost always build something, so during pick-up your child may have one or more projects that come home. 2. Drop-off is between 8:45am and 9:00am. We can accommodate an 8:30am drop off if needed. This Day Camp is in SOUTH LOOP Kids Science Labs. PLEASE NOTE: We will need a minimum of at least 10 children enrolled to host this day camp. Camp payments are non-refundable.
